ACTFL IPA RUBRICS AND PERFORMANCE TOWARDS PROFICIENCY
3modes.org is a website dedicated towards guiding language learners through proficiency levels based on the Integrated Performance Assessment Rubrics from the Implementing Integrated Performance Assessment by Bonnie Adair-Hauck, Eileen W. Glisan, and Francis J. Troyan, 2013. (For more information, click for rubrics and book.) The site is divided into the three modes of communication: Presentational, Interpersonal, and Interpretive. Within each mode of communication, users can interact with the site through the categories of each rubric. This site includes a variety of resources to aid language learners in moving from one proficiency level to the next.
ADLAI E. STEVENSON HIGH SCHOOL
3modes.org was born in Adlai E. Stevenson High School (Lincolnshire, Illinois) in 2016 by a group of World Language teachers. The site’s objective is to provide Tier 1 intervention to students in the three modes of communication in and out of the classroom as well as a resource to educators and parents interested in learning more about the three modes of communication. By utilizing Evidence-Based Reporting (Standards-Based Grading) in our classrooms, students receive focused feedback on areas where to improve and work towards meeting their set expectations and come to this website to help improve their performance levels in a given mode. For this reason, there are numerous resources created by the staff here at SHS and from around the web that are aimed at providing students with relevant, differentiated practices and resources to continue growing.
This site serves Chinese, French, German, Hebrew, and Spanish students. Additionally, the site provides a comprehensible approach to advancing through proficiency levels by providing resources that align with the Integrated Performance Assessment Rubrics made by ACTFL. By aligning to the IPA Rubrics made by ACTFL, it gives each user a differentiated approach to where they are in their language learning journey
